The buttons on your deskphone screen that allow shortcuts to certain actions are called line keys. You can configure them to quickly dial the numbers you use the most.
You must have the user role of Super Admin or Phones Manager to access this feature. See your role.
Any saved updates to a device’s line key configuration should automatically cause the phone to restart. If you don’t see the changes on your deskphone, try manually restarting the phone.
Add new line keys for a specific device
- Within the Weave Portal, select
Phone from the left navigation menu
- Click Line Keys in the dropdown
- Next to the deskphone's device names, click the
Ellipses icon
- Select Edit
- Click Add Line Key at the bottom of the page
- Within the new line key tile, select the line key type:
- Hold: Also known as park
- User Extension: Another device in your office
- Voicemail: Shortcut to open your voicemail box
- Contact: A number not in your office’s phone configuration
- Within the pop-up, follow the prompts depending on your line key type
Note: If you chose a user extension, select all the numbers you would like line keys for and what action pressing the line key should do - Monitor activity, intercom, or speed dial (none)
- Click Add Line Keys
Use the Drag icon to click and drag the different line keys to the order you would like them to show on your phone. If you add more than 11 line keys, another page will be added (up to 9 pages). The bottom keys will become navigation arrows.
If your previous line key configuration included office extensions (any extensions that are not a user extension) or data endpoints (custom line keys that use an API to perform a specific function like unlocking a door), they will show up as movable line keys, but you cannot remove, edit, or add these in the Weave Portal.
Tip: To delete a line key, click the X within the tile. If you delete a line key in the middle of your set, all the line keys below will move up one spot.
Make sure to Save in the bottom right corner after making any changes to your line keys.
Duplicate the line key configuration from one device to another
- Within the Weave Portal, select
Phone from the left navigation menu
- Click Line Keys in the dropdown
- Next to the deskphone's device name that needs to be duplicated, click the
Ellipses icon
- Select Duplicate
-
Check the box next to any devices that should replace the existing line keys with the duplicated setup
Note: The
alert icon indicates that the device does not have enough slots for the duplicated layout. If you still choose to duplicate to this device, the line keys at the end will be lost for that device.
- Select Duplicate to Devices
- Confirm in the popup that you would like to override the current line key settings with the duplicated settings
Tip: If you would not like to see this popup again when duplicating line keys, check the Don’t ask me again box before selecting Duplicate & Override
You can also duplicate while editing a specific device’s line keys by selecting Use an Existing Line Key Layout on the bottom of the page and following the prompts.
